"Downtown Dinner and a Movie"
The King of Hearts (1966) (Drama Comedy)

King of Hearts is a marvelous movie starring the late great Alan Bates and the lovely Geneviève Bujold. The movie is full of sweetness, charm, clever comedy, and fine drama that also comments very well on the stupidity of war. Late in World War I, Private Charles Plumpick is assigned to disarm a bomb planted by the Germans in a small town in France. When Plumpick arrives, however, he is chased by Germans and finds himself holed up in an insane asylum. The inmates at the asylum dub him the “King of Hearts,” and Plumpick feels compelled to help them. Will Plumpick have time to fulfill his duties and save his new friends? The King of Hearts is an all time foreign film classic.
Show starts at 7pm. Tickets – Adults $7; Seniors and children 12 and under $5. Cash bar available

"Downtown Dinner and a Movie"
Adam’s Rib (1949) (Romantic Comedy)
Arguably the greatest Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn film, it is certainly the most popular of their teamings. Brightly written, it takes the premise of a wife (the sparkling Judy Holliday, in her film debut) on trial for shooting her unfaithful husband (Tom Ewell, establishing himself in the kind of role he’d reprise in The Seven-Year Itch), and turns it into a forum of the sexual values and standards of the 1940s, and a showcase for the fabulous Tracy and Hepburn, who were never better as the battling D.A. and defense attorney. In the courtroom and out, the love they share, and tweaking of each other’s egos is a sheer joy to watch.
Show starts at 7pm. Tickets – Adults $7; Seniors and children 12 and under $5. Cash bar available
